Pelican VPS Hosting for Game Server Management
Run Pelican Panel on Amhost infrastructure and manage your game servers from your own panel: root access, Docker-ready VPS, Wings nodes, global locations, monitoring, backups and an upgrade path to Smart Servers or dedicated servers.
- VPS for starting with Pelican Panel and small game servers.
- Smart Servers and dedicated servers for heavier game workloads.
- Root access for Docker, Wings, firewall, domain and SSL setup.
- Amhost locations across regions for different player bases.
Amhost provides server infrastructure. Pelican Panel, Wings, eggs/templates, game servers and access rules are configured by the customer or as a separate administration service.
This page is about Pelican Panel
Pelican Panel is a game server management panel. It works with Wings, which runs game servers in isolated Docker containers.
This page is not about the Pelican Python static site generator and should not target static-site keywords.

How Pelican Panel runs on a server
A typical setup includes the panel, database, web server / reverse proxy and Wings. For a small project, everything can run on one VPS. As you grow, separate the panel from game nodes.
Pelican Panel
The panel manages users, servers, permissions, templates/eggs and the administration interface.
Wings node
Wings runs game servers on the node server and manages isolated Docker containers.
Database and reverse proxy
The panel needs a database, domain, HTTPS, web server or reverse proxy and correct port configuration.
Game servers
Game servers can run on the same VPS for small projects or on separate VPS, Smart Servers and dedicated nodes as load grows.
Why Amhost fits Pelican Panel
Root access and Docker-ready infrastructure
Pelican and Wings need control over the server environment. Root access lets you configure Docker, firewall, domain, SSL and storage.
Locations close to players
For game servers, latency matters more than for ordinary websites. Choose a region close to your player base.
Growth path from VPS to dedicated
Start with a VPS for the panel and small servers. As load grows, move game nodes to Smart Servers or dedicated servers.
Backups and monitoring
Game communities depend on saves, configuration, player data and panel stability.
Use cases
Small private group
One VPS can be enough for the panel and a few light game servers if load is moderate and resources are sized with headroom.
Gaming community
For regular players, choose more RAM, fast storage, monitoring and separate backups.
Multiple game projects
Separate the panel and game nodes: keep the panel on a stable VPS and place game servers on larger infrastructure.
Admin testing environment
Test new configurations, eggs/templates, mods and updates before moving changes to production.
Security, access and protection
A game server control panel should be protected like any production system. Configure HTTPS, firewall rules, strong passwords, admin access restrictions, SSH keys, updates, backups and monitoring.
Panel HTTPS
Use HTTPS for the panel, a proper domain and reverse proxy.
SSH and firewall
Restrict SSH with keys and open only the required game and service ports.
Users and roles
Separate users and roles in the panel; avoid giving project admins excessive permissions.
Backups and monitoring
Back up configuration and game data, and monitor CPU, RAM, disk, network and panel availability.
Migration from Pterodactyl
Pelican is connected to the Pterodactyl ecosystem, but migration should not be promised as one-click without checking the existing setup. Migration depends on panel version, node structure, server files, database, eggs/templates and access rights.
New Pelican installation
Amhost provides infrastructure for a new Pelican installation and gradual game server migration.
Separate migration plan
Before moving production servers, prepare a list of nodes, files, databases, templates and DNS/port changes.

FAQ
Is this Pelican Panel or the Pelican static site generator?
This page is about Pelican Panel, the game server management panel. It is not about the Python static site generator.
Can I run Pelican Panel on an Amhost VPS?
Yes. A VPS with root access is suitable for installing Pelican Panel, Wings, Docker and related components. For heavier game workloads, consider a Smart Server or dedicated server.
Do I need Wings?
For managing game servers, Pelican works with Wings. Wings handles game server deployment and management on the node server.
Can the panel and game servers run on one VPS?
Yes, for testing and small projects. For a stable community, it is better to separate the panel and game nodes or choose a more powerful configuration.
Which games can I run?
It depends on available eggs/templates, server resources and requirements of each game. Common scenarios include Minecraft, Palworld, ARK, Rust or CS2, but support should be checked separately.
Do I need DDoS protection?
For public game servers, network protection is often important. Check DDoS protection availability for the specific Amhost location and tariff.
Does Amhost install Pelican Panel?
If administration service is available, setup assistance can be ordered. Installation is not treated as included in the tariff by default.
